■ Nishikigoi NFT Community Voting for Local DAO
Today, April 30, we are pleased to announce that we will start a community vote for all digital villagers. This vote is for the approval of the candidate local communities "Tenryukyo (Nagano Prefecture)" and "Shiiba village (Miyazaki Prefecture)" for the next Local DAOs after Yamakoshi.
It has already been two years since the first Local DAO was launched in Yamakoshi, Niigata, and during that time, we have long been considering whether or not this local DAO (local network) would take root in society as the way of the future of the local community.
Then, about a year ago, we began looking for a "second new local region”. And we were so impressed by the love and passion of the Tenryukyo and Shiiba Village teams for their community. Anyway, here is some details of the vote.

This vote is more than just a choice. It is also a statement of our willingness to work together to create the future with the vision of each local communities. And the valuable opinions of the digital villagers will be an important factor in determining the future of Tenryukyo and Shiiba Village.

■ Yamakoshi Sports Day
Next month, on May 18, there is a sports day at Yamakoshi Elementary and Junior High Schools. Currently, there are only about 20 students in Yamakoshi Elementary and Junior High Schools, but thanks to the support of alumni, Yamakoshi residents, and digital village residents, we hope to make the Sports Day a unique event that not only the students but also the adults can truly enjoy.
■ Web3 WhitePaper of Japan
On April 12, the web3 Project Team (web3PT) of the LDP's Headquarters for the Promotion of Digital Society has released the "Web3 White Paper - Toward an era when new technologies will become social infrastructure”.
The paper consists of three things below.
Nippon Nexus: Weaving the web3 Era
Points to be Immediately Addressed for the Promotion of Web3
Key Topics to be Discussed for the Further Development of Web3
I don't know if they are posting in English, but in Japan today, the taxation system and laws for Web3 are getting significantly less restrictive. Especially around DAOs, things are about to change drastically. The government is trying to offer more support than ever before, but some have commented that it is a bit slow compared to other countries.
