The Value of Deep Community Connection
Shiiba Village, located deep within the Kyushu Mountains, is known as one of Japan’s Three Great Secluded Regions. This unique area maintains a strong sense of the “innate resilience of life” and the warm, genuine, face-to-face connections often missing in modern society. To ensure this essential village wisdom and vitality are passed on, we have launched a new initiative leveraging the Local DAO framework and NFT technology.
Crucially, this project was officially approved through a Digital Villager General Election held by the entire Nishikigoi NFT community. Driven by this strong mandate, we are pioneering the concept of the “Digital Villager,” moving far beyond being just a “relational population.”
Local Report: The Energy of the All-Night Kagura Tour
We recently hosted the successful “All-Night Kagura Tour 2025.” This marked the first time the traditional Kagura of the Osakigawa-no-kuchi district was opened to the general public. Participants traveled from afar, immersed themselves in the all-night ritual, and connected directly with villagers around a bonfire. This experience allowed them to fully grasp the “raw, intense energy of the community” thriving in this secluded region.
Embodied Passion: The “Shiiba Kagura NFT”
We are now excited to introduce the “Shiiba Kagura NFT,” which captures the vibrant spirit of Shiiba Village in a digital format.
