■ A New Candidate for Local DAO
Nishikigoi NFT is a project that supports diverse cultures by connecting art and technology with local communities, embracing the concept "empowering the locals”. We started with Yamakoshi village to try to increase the number of people involved, and most importantly to protect the identity of the community.
To this day, there are about 1700 digital villagers in the community. We define this community as "Local DAO" and practice democratic governance where the Nishikigoi holders vote on important decisions of the project. We plan this Local DAO to be not only in Yamakoshi, but also in other regions globally.
We have recently announced "Shiiba Village (Miyazaki)" and "Tenryukyo (Nagano)" as candidates for new Local DAOs. We just posted a blog post by Kenta Murakami of the Shiiba Village team, who has been working on population decline for many years. We’re now working on the translation.
Should be shared in the next newsletter!
