【Nishikigoi NFT Local DAO Community Voting】Guide and Detail
We’re tremendously excited to share with you that a community vote is open to all digital villagers (Nishikigoi NFT holders) to approve a new location for the Local DAO of Nishikigoi NFT. The voting is scheduled from April 30, 2024 to June 10, 2024.
◢◤The Proposal ◢◤
Approval or disapproval of new Local DAOs: “Tenryukyo, Nagano” and “Shiiba Village, Miyazaki”.
◢◤The Candidates◢◤
Tenryukyo (Nagano)
Tenryu Gorge is a beautiful natural place located in Nagano Prefecture. Its beauty is adorned by majestic valleys and clean, clear water. The seasons are a true fascination for visitors. The lush green landscape, rocky cliffs, and the murmuring of the Tenryu River flowing through the valley. The more you walk, the more you feel the resonance with nature. They offer trekking courses that will tickle your adventurous spirit, as well as walking trails where you can quietly face nature.
Tenryukyo, which once was one of Japan's leading tourist destinations attracting many people, is now facing a number of issues as the times change. In recent years, the number of tourists has dropped drastically due to the aging of the population and changes in the transportation network, and the entire region suffers from this situation. There exists a dilemma of being kept alive by tourism and being exhausted by tourism. In response to this situation, the Tenryukyo team strives to redefine a new sustainable tourism model that can coexist with local residents, and to rediscover the unique value of Tenryukyo.
Shiiba Village (Miyazaki)
Shiiba Village, located in the Kyushu Mountains, is a beautiful village with deep forests, pure waters, and a traditional culture that has been handed down from long ago. The Shiiba Kagura, a national Important Intangible Folk Cultural Property, symbolizes the village's identity as a Shinto ritual in which the dancers offer their dances to the gods in the hope of a good harvest.
The village, however, has been plagued in recent years by a serious lack of performers. The decline in population has also affected traditional culture, as fewer young people are able to perform kagura, and even the continuation of kagura is in danger. We are keenly aware that the decline in population means giving up on the future. Mr. Murakami, a member of Shiiba Village's team, describes the serious situation in which the village will not be able to sustain itself if nothing is done.
Traditional culture, including kagura, which has been fostered here, is the very spirit of the village, and its loss would be the same as the loss of the village's identity. Faced with the major challenge of a declining population, the Shiiba Village team is determined to stay in the village and create a new future for it.
