The Next Phase of Nishikigoi NFT
We recently ran our first Local DAO community voting taking place over a month from April 30 to June 10. In this voting, all digital villagers got the opportunity to vote to approve "Tenryukyo, Nagano Prefecture" and "Shiiba Village, Miyazaki Prefecture" as new Local DAOs after Yamakoshi village.
We announced the result the next day, June 11, that both regions have received community support and were officially approved. With these results, Crypto Village and the Tenryukyo and Shiiba Village teams will begin working together to launch Local DAO.
■ Voting Result
As the voting results, both Tenryukyo and Shiiba Village were approved as new Local DAO, as the requirements for approval were "the number of valid votes exceeded 10% of the total number of votes cast (290 votes)" and "the number of votes in favor exceeded the majority of votes cast".
And this vote was participated by more than 160 people. Overall, both the number of votes cast and the number of participants exceeded the previous round of voting, and both regions successfully met the requirements for approval. Once again, we would like to thank all digital villagers who participated in this vote.
■ The Moment to Reflect
Teams from both regions talked about their visions and commitments, we believe that the deeper understanding of the two regions' unique characteristics and challenges that they face was one of the factors that encouraged voters to actively participate in the vote.
And this time around, we had a lot of feedback from the community. All of the are vital and essential to the success of the project. For our matter, we have been aware of the wide variety of opinions, and have re-acknowledged the importance of these opinions throughout the voting period. Above all, the fact that a variety of opinions were freely expressed is proof of the fact that a certain degree of democracy is in place, and we believe that this was a very good sign.
We continue to build on this process, striving to create a community where different perspectives can intermingle and ultimately form a community that is less impersonal and more comprehensive. To this end, we believe it is important to build and maintain a system in which a variety of opinions are respected and anyone can freely speak their mind.

We are very honored that Tenryukyo got approved as a new location in Nishikigoi NFT's first Local DAO General Election. This community voting was a great opportunity to let many people know about Tenryukyo. Many projects are already underway, and we look forward to seeing your participation!

First of all, Thank you very much for your participation. To me, the community voting was a time to reflect on the importance of the process, not just the result. I feel that the fact that the approval did not come easily and that it worked to maintain the strength of the community after all the twists and turns was truly a result of the genuine support of the digital villagers.

The Nishikigoi NFT was born in Yamakoshi, and the idea of "Local DAO" has inspired so many people to show the possibility of creating a community through a unique blend of the real and digital worlds.
Over the past two and a half years, a trial and error process has been implemented toward the expansion of local communities that support the diverse local cultures to be preserved in a society with a declining population. With the approval of two regions to launch as Local DAOs in the Nishikigoi NFT community, we are now moving forward into a new phase of the project, going from the hypothesis of a Local DAO to a multi-regional experiment.
In the two regions that have been approved, Shiiba Village and Tenryukyo, the launch of Local DAOs with the issuance of their own digital resident card NFTs is scheduled during 2024. We have a feeling that the role of Nishikigoi NFT itself will be gradually transformed through the launching of multiple Local DAOs, and we are looking forward to seeing what kind of reactions will be brought about through the collaboration among the Local DAOs.
Together with all the digital villagers who have been supporting, we would like to continue to create a world in which something small and diverse can survive and thrive. Lastly again, Thank you so much for the all the support that you’ve given.
